Cheese Wheels

It started here for £50

All on a tight budget, stripped to shell, rolled, undercoated, lowered -35 on springs at front and -85 on drop plates at rear. Not low enough but usable.
Fitted with 1.6 GTD motor - still waiting for FMIC before it'll run.

Golf bonnet de-rusted, glued back together and fitted on lifters

Donor Golf wings and doors welded waxoyled and fitted

Deffo Renought wheels, I think 19?

Like a lot of Renought wheels, they are made by Speedline - I paid £15 for 5 of them.

I picked this intercooler up new for £16  has some dented fins but nothing serious.

It's from a "erm I think a ford" according to the seller

Made some brackets up either side, had to modify the light bracket on one side...

Fit's in nice and the rad sits back in it's original brackets

- only problem so far is I had to shift the battery backwards 30mm to get a decent space between the rad and the battery for the intercooler tube.

The only further snag I can see is that my hand may have been forced on the choice of fitting the four lamp or two lamp front end, the grill with spots may not fit anymore and even if it did - they will rob airflow.

Oh yeah cut the dent out of the blind bed corner section and then I POR-15'ed the bed (Excellent Stuff)

but have since coated it with industrial floor paint and a layer of sand

Waxoyl'ed all the cavities, especially the rear bulkhead in the vain hope that rusty water will stop dribbling out of the seam!

proper job mate

I'm on the lookout for a V*uxhall Vivaro intercooler, apparently they're a great fit too. I'll just turn my battery sideways. Really need to do it soon get my boost temperatures down.

Whatever it's from (I think it fell out of a stock cupboard / production line myself)

I don't think they'll be legitimately coming up on ebay for a while..

Sand coated bed, ran out of satin black so it's patchy, but you get the idea.

Bit warm out yesterday, everyone sat peacefully in their gardens... neighbours were so chuffed with me running an electric sander for 4 hours solid - they were chuffed when the sander died, but less chuffed when I fired up the sprayguns turbine unit about 30 minutes later

Missus came home, "oooh, you've painted it.....

......it actually is starting to look quite good now"
