Norwegian Caddy

Hello
Here is my caddy and its from 1983. Its very little rust on the car and I am ready to work (very much)
Second color/paint is gold

I have a question
Where do they sell complete pack to lower a caddy with TUV paper? Links...

I fount something on bullock:
http://www.bullock-style.de/onlinesh...y_fahrwerk.htm

F 018 Kompl.-Fahrwerk m. Gew.fed.B., Koni rot inkl.Blat 716 euro

F 018 H Kompl.-Fahrwerk m. Gew.Fed.B., Koni gelb härtever 818 euro

What is the different and what do I need? I want a good sett, and its important you can go low enough

Anders from Norway

The caddy looks great.

Welcome to the forum.

Regarding lowering, do a search on the forum for axel flip. You dont need expensive lowering kits.

I dont think you will get TUV approved lowering kit. Best way I could think of is having the rear leaf springs re-tempered ad using shortened shox, that way no one cold tell it didnt leave the factory that way???? Caddy Sports had different leaf springs as standard and therefore run lower anyway.

You should get TUV approved Coilovers I should think....damn paperwork.

OR carry something heavy around! tee hee

I have many plans for the car, but I have the hole winter to work and think

Some of my plan is:
-1,8 GTI 8V and weber’s
-Good/big breaks in front and rear
-15” rims and 8” wide
-Lower the car much
-Powerflex bushes in front and probably some home made rear
-Much detail welding on the car

Here is a picture from my first job with the car

Oki, is the set from bullock TUV approved?
I heard that FK have some complete set, but it was expensive.

If I twist the axel, will the car be stiff and low enough?

I dont know of any TUV kits, you will have to do your own research on that,

If you flip the rear you can stiffen a bit with uprated shox, I have Konis on mine.
It will be low enough as you can add small blocks to get it as low as you want.

Also the flipped axle gives you two positions as there is a block as standard and you can move it to get the axle lower.

Nice, keep up the good work. Why not take it back to its original color? Keep us posted.

Thanks

The original color on the car is white. The second color on the car is gold, from the old owner.
My color plan was to have an original vw color from the 60’s or 70’s. I have watch on some color on www.doppel-wobber.de, but I’m not sure what to choose.

Where can I find a colormap for the vw beetle’s ?

For paint colors I am very happy with my 941 Aragonit Blau Metallic - it is a Mercedes color from the 90's but it works perfect with the Water Blue vinyl from old beetles, you couldn't get a better match. My interior is water blue with charcoal tweed and salt and pepper German square weeve carpet, the interior has the classic feel from old German cars. That color was always my favorite but at the time I couldn't afford a Mercedes and now they stopped making it, so, my pickup is that color instead. Their are so many beautiful colors I wouldn't feel limited. My girlfriend liked the color of a semi tractor rig and the driver gave her the VIN so she got it decoded by the manufacturer and painted her BMW that color and it was pretty neat. Just remember, odds are if you see any vehicle painted that color you can get the paint code from the VIN. Another I always liked was the strange Diesel Green that Mercedes used in the early 80's. It looked just like Diesel and looked copper from one angle and green from another.
